Lita Hallyburton – (Training & Development Manager for the North of England & Scotland)
Lita spent over 30 years working in the public and voluntary sectors; initially as a teacher; with a PGCE degree after achieving a BSc, and then as a safeguarding coordinator; with a CQSW degree, a Social Care Manager; with a Management Qualification, and during that time was a consultant and trainer; with a Training the Trainer Qualification.
She has many years of experience in training, running workshops and consultation and has developed a specialist training programme for safeguarding young people in Bradford and an online training program for agencies safeguarding young people which is being used Nationally by E-Academy, and alongside that a toolkit for practitioners which is also being used nationally.
She was a Social Care Student Practice Teacher for many years; with a Practice Teacher Qualification, and also gave occasional lectures in Universities in Bradford and Huddersfield over her time in Social Care.
When she retired early from Social Care, she initially trained with Terri Shanks as a Funeral Celebrant, and a short while later returned to complete her Certificate in Marriage and Family Celebrancy . Since completing her own training Lita has really enjoyed the very challenging journey through practice to understand better how to give people the experience they both want and need at the important times of their lives. Lita is now a very successful and sought after Celebrant in the North of England, running her celebrancy business from Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire www.ceremonynorthwest.co.uk.
Lita was one of the Founder Members of The Fellowship of Professional Celebrants and feels passionately about the organisation as she shared the ethics & values which they aspire to.
Due to Lita’s vast experience in training and education, plus her dedication to the Fellowship & families she serves, she was chosen by Terri Shanks to cover her training courses when she went on Maternity Leave in 2011. However due to the success of those courses and the wonderful feedback received from all attendees, Terri kept her on as a valued member of the Fellowship Training team and has now appointed her as Regional Training and Development Manager for the North of England and Scotland.
