When Claire trialled a careers test at college as a teenager, the top job it came up with for her personality was ‘Minister of Religion’. Too bad she wasn’t religious! And yet, the thought of how she’d actually love doing that job stayed with her for many years. It was only when she discovered Celebrancy was ‘a thing’ that it all made sense – and when a friend asked her to conduct her wedding, the die was cast.
Between that careers test and training as a celebrant, Claire worked as a teacher, then as a well-established life coach for many years, also writing articles for magazines and blogs and giving talks to diverse groups of people. So all along, she had the right ingredients – becoming a celebrant, not a minister, was the winning recipe!
Since completing her Marriage and Family Celebrancy training with Terri, Claire has gone on to be a successful and sought-after celebrant in the Sussex area. South East Regional winner and National Winner of ‘Celebrant of the Year 2018’ in The Wedding Industry Awards and content editor for the European Celebrants’ Collective, she is passionate about promoting the visibility of celebrants in society, as well as helping other celebrants to create beautiful ceremonies and sustainable businesses.
