Our Funeral Celebrant Training courses are designed for anyone who is interested in understanding about the role of a celebrant, the process of the funeral service, and in helping people in a very difficult time of need to personalise and design a beautiful and fitting end of life ceremony for their loved one.
Course Details
The 3 DAY course will cover all aspects of Funeral Celebrancy, including:
- Understanding why we need Funeral Rituals.
- The History & Future of Funeral Celebrancy.
- Family Meetings & Ceremony Planning.
- Understanding the unique needs of the bereaved.
- Writing bespoke & meaningful Funeral Ceremonies.
- The toughest funerals; Children & Babies, Death by Suicide, Victims of Murder.
- Presentation Skills.
- Music, Poetry & Reading resources.
- What to do on the day and how to conduct Cremation & Burial services.
- How to market yourself to funeral directors and to the general public.
Course fee includes refreshment and buffet lunch. The course fee does not include accommodation, but there are plenty of Hotels and Bed & Breakfasts close by.

Terri Negus
Director and Principal Course Leader
Terri Negus is a highly experienced Wedding & Funeral Celebrant having conducted over 3000 ceremonies. Her personal training saw her travelling the globe to study under some of the world’s leading Celebrants, Bereavement Specialists & Celebrant Trainers. Terri was also fortunate to attend the first ever International Convention of Celebrants in America.
James Mooney Dutton
Course Leader Funeral Celebrant Training
James enjoys helping families to create ceremonies that are meaningful and reflective and has held the post of Director of Music at several different churches. As a teacher and educator he is delighted to be able to combine all these skills; bringing them to the Fellowship as a member of the training team. James went on to train both as a funeral and family and marriage celebrant with the Fellowship.
